Revising the fisheries control system
The EU has adopted a regulation introducing new rules on fisheries control. The act amends five regulations, of which Council Regulation (EC) 1224/2009 (the Control Regulation) forms the core of the EU fisheries control system. The revision is the result of a long process. In May 2018, the European Commission tabled the proposal as the last major component of the 2013 revision of the common fisheries policy. Le contrôle des pêches, qui vise à garantir le respect de la politique commune de la pêche (PCP) est un facteur essentiel de son succès. Le système de contrôle de l’Union est en cours de révision, avec une proposition de la Commission visant à moderniser le suivi des activités de pêche, et à améliorer l’application et la mise à jour de la réglementation conformément à la dernière réforme de la PCP. Le vote du Parlement sur cette révision devrait se dérouler pendant la session de mars I 2017.
