2015 Parlemeter: Main findings on migration

Kratki prikaz 03-03-2016

The 2015 Parlemeter surveyed more than 28 000 Europeans in autumn last year. The results show a majority of Europeans are in favour of more integration in the area of migration, however there are marked variations among Member States in the level of support for common asylum policies. An increasing number of Europeans believe that immigration is a major challenge for the future of the EU. Some 68% of respondents say they are for 'a common European policy on migration', a 5-point fall compared to spring 2015. In all, 78% of Europeans support better distribution of asylum-seekers amongst EU Member States, of which 75% think this should be decided upon in the form of 'binding quotas'. Here, there are significant divergences between Member States, with 97% of Germans in favour of better distribution compared to 31% of Slovakians, for example.
