Road transport is a major contributor to climate change. CO2 emissions from heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) have grown steadily, and account for over a quarter of road transport CO2 emissions. Durante la tornata di settembre il Parlamento voterà la relazione approvata dalla commissione per l'ambiente, la sanità pubblica e la sicurezza alimentare (ENVI) su una proposta di revisione della legislazione dell'UE in materia di qualità dell'aria. Una volta approvata in Aula la relazione costituirà la posizione del Parlamento per i negoziati con il Consiglio, che deve ancora concordare un orientamento generale.

A luglio il Parlamento voterà la relazione approvata dalla commissione per l'ambiente, la sanità pubblica e la sicurezza alimentare (ENVI) su una proposta della Commissione che aggiorna le norme dell'UE per prevenire e controllare l'inquinamento industriale. Una volta approvata in Aula la relazione costituirebbe la posizione del Parlamento per i negoziati di trilogo con il Consiglio.
