Il 13 aprile 2016 la Commissione, il Parlamento e il Consiglio hanno firmato l’accordo interistituzionale (AII) “Legiferare meglio”, che ha sostituito l'accordo precedente del 2003. A circa due anni dalla sua entrata in vigore, il Parlamento dovrebbe votare una relazione di iniziativa congiunta sull’interpretazione e l’attuazione dell’AII durante la tornata di maggio II.
