The European Parliament after Brexit
Once the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU becomes legally effective, 73 EP seats will become vacant. Twenty-seven of these seats will be re-distributed among 14 Member States. The remaining 46 seats would be available for potential EU enlargements and/or for the possible future creation of a transnational constituency.

Podczas lipcowej sesji plenarnej Parlament Europejski ma wyrazić zgodę na projekt decyzji Rady zmieniającej Akt dotyczący wyborów przedstawicieli do Parlamentu Europejskiego w powszechnych wyborach bezpośrednich z 1976 r. ustanawiający wspólne zasady dotyczące wyborów do Parlamentu Europejskiego. Nowe przepisy określą między innymi minimalny próg w wysokości od 2% do 5% dla okręgów z liczbą co najmniej 35 mandatów.

Walka z niegodziwym traktowaniem dzieci w celach seksualnych
Dyrektywa 2011/93/UE w sprawie zwalczania niegodziwego traktowania w celach seksualnych i wykorzystywania seksualnego dzieci oraz pornografii dziecięcej, przyjęta w grudniu 2011 r., ustanawia minimalne normy dotyczące definiowania takich przestępstw i kar za nie, jak również przepisy służące lepszemu zapobieganiu takim przestępstwom i lepszej ochronie ofiar. Podczas grudniowej sesji plenarnej Parlament ma przeprowadzić debatę nad sprawozdaniem w sprawie stosowania dyrektywy.
World Day Against Child Labour
The International Labour Organization (ILO) introduced the World Day Against Child Labour in 2002, as part of their efforts to eradicate this unacceptable phenomenon. The day is observed each year on 12 June, and this year the focus will be on the impact of conflicts and disasters. It is also an opportunity to consider what measures have been taken at international and EU level to prevent child labour, and with what success.
