This short note gives an overview of the Broad Economic Policy Guidelines (BEPGs) and the Guidelines for Employment Policies. It provides details on the background, the process of adoption and key elements of the guidelines.

The debate on the way to further enhance the economic governance in the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) will be part of the policy agenda during spring 2015. This note gives a short description of the state-of-play and possible developments of various governance instruments of EMU.
