The North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) is an intergovernmental fisheries management organisation responsible for fishery resources in the North-East Atlantic, particularly in international waters. As a member, the EU incorporates NEAFC decisions into Union law. In January 2024, the European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries is due to vote on a proposal to integrate the NEAFC rules into a new regulation.

Na styczniowej sesji plenarnej Parlament przeprowadzi debatę i głosowanie nad trzema sprawozdaniami z własnej inicjatywy o wspólnej polityce rybołówstwa (WPRyb). Podsumowują one minione 10 lat od ostatniej reformy tej polityki i odpowiadają na przedstawioną przez Komisję ocenę jej realizacji. Sprawozdania te są wkładem w dyskusję o przyszłości WPRyb.

Parlament Europejski ma wyrazić zgodę na zawarcie protokołu wykonawczego do umowy w sprawie połowów między UE a Kiribati na lata 2023–2028. Protokół reaktywuje umowę, która nie jest stosowana od września 2015 r. Pozwoli to unijnym statkom rybackim wznowić połowy tuńczyka na bogatych łowiskach Kiribati w zamian za wkład finansowy i wsparcie sektorowej polityki rybołówstwa tego kraju.

Podczas pierwszej sesji listopadowej Parlament Europejski ma głosować nad wyrażeniem zgody na zawarcie z Madagaskarem nowej umowy w sprawie połowów i protokołu wykonawczego. Owe nowe ramy przywracają stosunki między UE a Madagaskarem w zakresie rybołówstwa i zapewniają flocie UE prawa dostępu do połowów na wodach Madagaskaru. W zamian za to UE wspiera zrównoważony rozwój lokalnego rybołówstwa i ochronę środowiska morskiego.

Parlament ma głosować nad porozumieniem z Radą w drugim czytaniu w sprawie nowych przepisów dotyczących połowów tuńczyka błękitnopłetwego we wschodnim Atlantyku i w Morzu Śródziemnym. Przepisy te są transpozycją ostatnich decyzji Międzynarodowej Komisji ds. Ochrony Tuńczyka Atlantyckiego (ICCAT).

Podczas czerwcowej sesji miesięcznej Parlament ma głosować nad udzieleniem zgody na zawarcie nowego protokołu wykonawczego do umowy w sprawie połowów między UE a Mauritiusem. W tym protokole, który umożliwia statkom UE prowadzenie połowów na wodach Mauritiusu, określono uprawnienia do połowów dostępne dla floty UE i rekompensatę finansową UE.

This Report is a research on the current performance of the shared management component of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and its impact on the Common Fisheries Policy. Based on quantitative data collection as well as on interviews with Managing Authorities of Member States and stakeholders, the Report also analyses the legislative proposal for the post-2020 EMFF and seeks to support the Members of the PECH Committee of the EU Parliament in their consideration.
