We wrześniu 2014 r. Komisja Europejska przedstawiła pakiet trzech wniosków w celu zaktualizowania ram prawnych dla leków weterynaryjnych. Bardziej rygorystyczne przepisy mają na celu zwalczanie odporności na środki przeciwdrobnoustrojowe oraz poprawę dostępności leków weterynaryjnych w UE. Oczekuje się, że w czasie drugiego posiedzenia plenarnego w październiku Parlament Europejski będzie głosować nad tekstami uzgodnionymi w trakcie negocjacji trójstronnych.

The EU has adopted a strategy for the sustainable use of pesticides. EU legislation requires pesticides to be effective and have no harmful effects. The European Commission sets maximum levels for pesticide residues in food and feed. Pesticide residues in water are subject to the Water Framework Directive.
