European Election Night
The European Parliament Office in Edinburgh hosted an election night evening in Hemma, which is situated in Edinburgh.
The European Parliament Office in Edinburgh hosted an Election Party in Hemma. The evening was a great success, with upwards of 50 people in attendance. Guests enjoyed live music from the band Vieux Carré, who were later joined by Ali Affleck, recently voted Scotland’s best jazz vocalist.
Before the results began to filter through, guests participated in a Euro-themed quiz. A selection of Swedish food was then made available, which certainly added to the European atmosphere!
As the first local authorities began to announce their results on a live stream, the guests watched intently to discover who was likely to represent Scotland in the European Parliament. Many of the guests were from various EU member states and were also watching to see who their country had voted for.
The evening ended close to midnight, with everyone going home to await the full results to be announced the next day for Scotland. They did however, obtain a good picture of the European political landscape.
